Last week was filled with tennis. When I am home working or even not working, I have the US Open on. I really enjoy watching those matches. Tuesday and Thursday morning I played my own tennis for an hour with my tennis friends. I tried to incorporate what I have been watching on TV, but it is harder than it looks! Ha! Tuesday and Thursday afternoon, Kate had tennis matches. Tuesday they played American Fork. She won 8-2. Thursday, they played Hillcrest and she won 8-1. She playes 1st singles JV. She hoped to play Varsity Doubles, and she still may challenge up, but we love watching her play singles. She is captain of the team, and she does a good job of handling those prima donna tennis players.
When I got tired of tennis I watched football! Thursday night we watched Utah win on TV. Friday night we went to the Brighton football game--they beat Hunter 7-3. At halftime Kate and the other officers presented money they had collected to the Hunter officers to give to the family of the Hunter football player who was stabbed to death last week. It was a nice gesture for a tragic event.
Saturday we went to the BYU football game and it was SO fun. All of the famous, old quarterbacks came back to raise money, and they did a special halftime thing. Steve Young made the comment that they were proud to have played for BYU and to represent the church and values that backs BYU. I am not sure Jim McMann agreed with that, but he stood there very respectfully! Then, of course, BYU won!
In the middle of all of the sports frenzy, Boyd brought Calese and her family to catch their plane to Scotland. They spent the night with us. I volunteered to keep cute, sweet Ivy while they go to graduate school, but they decided to take her with them. What a darling family. Notice Ivy smiling at her Grandpa!
