Yesterday and today have been really wonderful. Yesterday was BYU's large commencement exercises. Jacque wasn't sure she wanted to go, ("long and boring" were the words I think she used.) I advised her to go. ("My Mom is making me" were the words I heard her say.) I am glad we went. I find that I very much enjoy ceremonial celebrations. And, it was not very long and not at all boring. Today was just as enjoyable when we went to the College of Life Sciences. They said her name correctly and Jacque was beautiful and stately as she accepted her diploma.
I am extremely proud of Jacque. She has been determined and steady as she worked toward this accomplishment. She has had to overcome a few obstacles. She helped nurse her sick Mom. She took care of her little sister. She had her own health issues. With each challenge, she adjusted and moved forward with good humor and courage.
I think that she feels some apprehension about life after college. My advice? Move forward with good humor and courage!
