Beauty of Spring

One of our spring rituals is waiting and watching for the scrub oak to burst into green leaves. When that happens, we know that spring is here. And it finally has happened:

Last fall I told Bryce that we were going to have to replace this lilac bush with something else, because it was not doing well. The bush must have heard me and mustered all of its energy to
grow and blossom beautifully this spring. How could I ever have thought of taking this beautiful plant out? Ha!
