Stand By Me

General Sherman, the famous Civil War General, evidently had some emotional problems at some point in his life. He was able to heal, and he went on to become an important factor in the Civil War. He was also close friends with General (President) Grant. Sherman was later quoted as saying about that friendship, "He stood by me when I was crazy and I stood by him when he was drunk, and we have been standing by each other ever since."
Well, it has been 7 months since my surgery and since my body/mind decided that I could not handle any more change or loss. I honestly don't know how Bryce has been able to be so supportive about a sickness that I know he does not understand, because I don't understand it. My friend Clair has also been with me every step of the way. When I told her the Sherman story, she calmly said, "well, I guess that makes me the drunk one."
I am doing much better, and I have hope that I will continue to improve. Bryce, Clair, Cathy, Jacque and many others have really helped me survive the last 7 months. Thank you for your visits, calls, prayers, love and food. I feel very blessed with the relationships in my life.
